Privacy Policy

Lazuela Last updated: 05/10/2026 Version: 3.0

At Lazuela, we create jewelry that represents the people you love most. This means we handle something delicate: your name, your address, sometimes the story behind a purchase. We treat that information with the same care we treat the pieces we ship.

This policy explains, plainly, what data we collect, why we use it, with whom we share it, and what you can request from us at any time. It's written to be easy to understand. If anything isn't clear, email us at privacidad@lazuela.com and we'll explain it in simple terms.

Lazuela is the brand responsible for processing personal data collected through lazuela.com.

6. International data transfers

Lazuela is an international brand. We operate with a network of distribution centers and logistics partners located in different countries, which allows us to fulfill orders in America and Europe.

Therefore, and for your order to reach your door, some of your data may be processed outside your country of residence, including countries in America, Europe, and Asia. Specifically, your name, shipping address, phone number, and email may be shared with the distribution center and carrier corresponding to your shipment.

Some of these countries have data protection laws different from your country's and, in certain cases, less protective. When this occurs, we adopt adequate safeguards to protect your information:

  • Standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission, when the transfer leaves the European Economic Area to a country without an adequacy decision.
  • Equivalent contractual clauses and confidentiality commitments required from our partners in other jurisdictions.
  • Strict data limitation: logistics partners only receive the essential data to prepare and deliver the order. They do not receive your payment data, purchase history, or marketing preferences.
  • Contractual prohibition from using your data for their own purposes.

You can request a copy of the applicable safeguards by writing to privacidad@lazuela.com.

7. How long we retain your data

We retain each piece of data only as long as it has a reason to exist:

Data type Retention period
Account data While the account is active, and up to 12 months after your deletion request
Order, billing, and tax data The period required by applicable tax legislation (between 5 and 10 years depending on the country)
Payment data We do not store it; it is retained by the gateway according to its own policies
Customer service communications 24 months from the last contact
Marketing data Until you revoke your consent, and up to 12 months later to prove deregistration
Cookies and browsing data According to the period indicated in the Cookies Policy
Data linked to a claim During the procedure and the subsequent statute of limitations period

Once the period expires, we delete or anonymize the information irreversibly.

8. How we protect your data

We apply technical and organizational measures proportionate to the risk:

  • Connection encryption using SSL/TLS certificate across the entire site.
  • Encryption of payment data in transit, processed by PCI-DSS certified gateways.
  • Access control: only personnel who need data for their work can view it.
  • Strong authentication on administrative platforms.
  • Confidentiality and processing contracts with all our suppliers.
  • Backups and periodic review of permissions.

No system is infallible. If a security breach occurs that poses a high risk to your rights, we will notify you and inform the competent authority within the deadlines set by law.

9. Your rights

Regardless of where you live, you can exercise the following rights regarding your data:

  • Access. To know what data we have about you and obtain a copy.
  • Rectification. To correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure or deletion. To request that we delete your data when it is no longer necessary.
  • Objection. To object to processing based on legitimate interest, and in any case to advertising.
  • Restriction of processing. To request that we suspend processing while a discrepancy is resolved.
  • Data portability. To receive your data in a structured, commonly used format, or to request that we send it to another controller.
  • Withdrawal of consent. To withdraw the consent you gave us at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing prior to withdrawal.
  • Not to be subject to automated decisions with significant legal effects.

In Mexico and several Latin American countries, these rights are known as ARCO rights (Access, Rectification, Cancellation, and Objection). They are the same, and we handle them equally.

Exercising any of these rights is free and will not have any consequences on your orders or your relationship with us.

10. How to exercise your rights

Write to us at privacidad@lazuela.com indicating:

  1. Your full name and a contact method.
  2. The right you wish to exercise.
  3. A clear description of the data affected.
  4. A document that proves your identity (or order details, if you prefer not to send documentation).

Response times: we will respond within a maximum of 20 business days, which is the shortest applicable period among the jurisdictions where we operate. If the request is complex, we will notify you and may extend it according to applicable law.

To unsubscribe from marketing, none of this is necessary: use the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any email, or reply to us with the word UNSUBSCRIBE.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can file a complaint with your country's data protection authority. You will find the relevant authority in the annexes to this policy.

11. Cookies and similar technologies

We use our own and third-party cookies for the store to function, to remember your cart, to measure site performance, and to show you relevant advertising.

Cookies that are not strictly necessary are only activated if you accept them in the consent banner. You can accept them, reject all of them, or choose by category, and rejecting is as easy as accepting. You can change your decision at any time from the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

Full details are in our Cookie Policy.

12. Marketing and personalized advertising

If you give us your consent, we will send you emails or messages about new collections, launches, and promotions. We write little and only when we have something to say.

We may also show you ads on social media and search engines. For this, we share encrypted identifiers with these platforms, which cross-reference them with their own databases to show you relevant content and measure results. This only happens if you have accepted advertising cookies.

You can opt out at any time, with one click, and without affecting your purchases.

13. Automated decisions and profiling

We use automated tools for two things: recommending products to you and detecting potential fraud in orders.

These tools do not make decisions with legal effects on you. If an anti-fraud system flags an order, a person reviews it before canceling it, and you can always request this human review and explain your case by writing to privacidad@lazuela.com.

14. Minors

Lazuela is intended for adults. We do not knowingly sell to minors or collect data from minors.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a minor under your care has provided us with data, please write to us at privacidad@lazuela.com and we will delete it immediately.

15. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date in the header. When the change is substantial—a new purpose, a new recipient, or a change in your rights—we will notify you by email or through a prominent notice on the site before it takes effect.

We keep previous versions available upon request.

16. Contact

All our attention is via email. You write to us and a team member responds, with no call centers or automatic replies.

Privacy and exercise of rights: privacidad@lazuela.com Customer service: hola@lazuela.com

We respond Monday to Friday. If you write to us on a weekend, you will receive a response on the next business day.
